Davy Piping

W. Bro David Beggs was there to Pipe for his brother. The piper was toasted with Glenlivet, which made the first mile a bit quicker than usual for Ken.

The Marathon started from Loughshore Park, Jordanstown to Belfast and then out to Cultra Down along the cycle route back.

Ken finished in 4 hrs 5 mins 57 secs his best time from Tralee 2013 (Approx 30 marathons ago)

He was presented with a memento by Craig Mills of East Antrim Marathon Series.

The installation of our new W. Master took place  On Saturday 25th of January, 2014.

Please do enjoy the photographs taken Saturday night. Any volunteer write-ups for the night are welcome.

[author] [author_image timthumb=’on’]https://lodge669ic.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/image085.jpg[/author_image] [author_info]There was a good attendance from the members of the lodge and visitors, with a number of brethren unable to attend who passed on their well wishes and congratulations. We had a very enjoyable meeting, followed by an excellent installed master degree, ably performed by W Bro Tarr who installed his successor with skill. The festive board was very well attended with an excellent meal, good wine, and port. The brethren were in good spirits and relaxed. The speeches and toasts were delivered in an informed and professional manner, with a mix of humour and sincerity. The brethren were entertained in song and music by W Bro’s David Beggs & William Cardwell on the pipes and in guitar and song by W bro Rennie McGrath and Bro Paul Francey, and was enjoyed by all. Installation 2013

January 31, 2013 By JT Leave a Comment

On Saturday 26th January 2013, our new W. Master was installed.

Attending the Installation was the R.W. Provincial Assistant Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Ken Porter. Coincidently, he was our W. Master’s headmaster at his primary school.

Visitors from many Lodges and other Masonic constitutions enjoyed the Installation meeting, and Festive board afterwards. Our two pipers W. Bros. William Cardwell, and David Beggs escorted the new WM into dinner, and gave us an excellent performance as usual.

The “Masters Song” was sung by our good friend W. Bro. Rennie McGrath, who also entertained us with local songs. An excellent dinner ensured a good time was had by all!

WHAT IS FREEMASONRY?

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Some rituals are still celebrated today.

VALUES

Freemasonry has always been about making good men better. Individuals aim to shape their lives around five core principles.

Integrity: We say what we mean, and we keep our promises.

Kindness: Although our families come first, we believe in playing a key role in our communities and give time and money to charitable ventures.

Honesty: We pride ourselves on openness, about what being a Freemason means for us.

Fairness: We treat everyone as equal – we listen to others, explore any differences and look for common ground.

Tolerance: We respect the opinions of others and behave with understanding towards them.

IS FREEMASONRY FOR ME?

Freemasonry means different things to every individual, making many new friends, contributing to society, celebrating a long tradition, experiencing personal growth, having fun.

Our logo

Welcome to Masonic Lodge No. 669, Belfast,Northern Ireland.

Our Lodge meets on the 4th Saturday every month except June, July and
August, at 6:30 pm in the Leighton room of Freemasons' Hall, Arthur Square, Belfast, Northern Ireland

Becoming a Freemason

Many people assume that to become a Freemason, a man must be invited to join. This is not so, in fact, while members might encourage their friends to join, they do not typically recruit or invite candidates for membership.

If you are interested in joining us, we encourage you to simply ask any Freemason. If you don’t know a member and wish to join, please email us via our Secretary HERE with your name, and contact details.
After each Lodge 669 meeting, we have an informal meal which applicants can also attend to meet the Lodge members, and enjoy some excellent food and good company.
We look forward to meeting you.

“There are no strangers in Freemasonry, only friends you’ve yet to meet.” George Washington
