Sir George Clark Memorial Masonic Lodge 669 supporting Hosford Homeless Services. £500 donation presented by our W. Master today.

“Given the current situation in regards to Covid-19  Hosford Homelessness Services are facing additional pressures as we strive to keep our residents, clients and staff safe. This means we are facing additional costs for deep cleaning, additional staffing costs for the hostel; and emergency food and cleaning supplies for those who are most vulnerable in our hostel and who are using our tenancy support services”.

Could you help us during this difficult time by donating towards these additional costs by donation here or via the link below?

Just £5 could buy hand soaps to keep clients safe; £10 could buy cleaning supplies for a deep clean in our hostel; £25 could purchase an emergency food hamper for someone in need.

Any support you can offer at this difficult time is hugely appreciated!

If you need to contact us regarding any of our service’s please call us on 028 9045 8560 or email [email protected]

‘Plucky’ Patrick Elliott completes Europa Belfast abseil aged 75

October 5, 2019 By Jorge Garcia Leave a Comment

W. Bro. Patrick Elliott, a member of Sir George Clark Memorial Lodge 669, Belfast received cheers and applause from the crowd as he reached the bottom of the Europa hotel.

“It was very hard work,” he said. “It was so windy I swung about a bit, but oh yes, I enjoyed it, I feel it’s well worth it. My legs ached like anything and my right arm where I held the rope, and my hair was all sticking out.
”‘Plucky Patrick” has raised £900 for the Grand Master’s Vision 2020 appeal. The appeal includes the charity Médecins Sans Frontières, the RNLI, Simon Communities of Ireland and Simon Community Northern Ireland.
Patrick’s sister Mary Elliott worked with Médecins Sans Frontières as a nurse for many years in foreign and difficult countries.
His total raised so far is over £600.

Well done Patrick on your bravery – let’s support him to achieve his £1,000 target!

WHAT IS FREEMASONRY?

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Some rituals are still celebrated today.

VALUES

Freemasonry has always been about making good men better. Individuals aim to shape their lives around five core principles.

Integrity: We say what we mean, and we keep our promises.

Kindness: Although our families come first, we believe in playing a key role in our communities and give time and money to charitable ventures.

Honesty: We pride ourselves on openness, about what being a Freemason means for us.

Fairness: We treat everyone as equal – we listen to others, explore any differences and look for common ground.

Tolerance: We respect the opinions of others and behave with understanding towards them.

IS FREEMASONRY FOR ME?

Freemasonry means different things to every individual, making many new friends, contributing to society, celebrating a long tradition, experiencing personal growth, having fun.

Becoming a Freemason

Many people assume that to become a Freemason, a man must be invited to join. This is not so, in fact, while members might encourage their friends to join, they do not typically recruit or invite candidates for membership.

If you are interested in joining us, we encourage you to simply ask any Freemason. If you don’t know a member and wish to join, please email us via our Secretary HERE with your name, and contact details.
After each Lodge 669 meeting, we have an informal meal which applicants can also attend to meet the Lodge members, and enjoy some excellent food and good company.
We look forward to meeting you.

“There are no strangers in Freemasonry, only friends you’ve yet to meet.” George Washington
